Job Description

MU Marketing and Communications is a critical partner in helping the institution meet its mission and strategic goals. Mizzou Marketing is committed to working in an intentional, data-informed, forward-looking, and collaborative manner to implement a comprehensive enrollment strategy.

Mizzou Marketing works collaboratively with academic leadership and the university's marketing professionals to create a marketing strategy that is consistent with the university's overall brand and that supports the institution's Strategic Enrollment Plan.

The Marketing Project Manager reports to the Mizzou Marketing Director of project management. It's primary area of responsibility is within the Mizzou Online project management space. This position assists the director with large-scale tasks and is responsible for ensuring project tasks and personnel are delivering as expected. It plans and executes projects to help improve processes, build structures or complete other initiatives. It shepherds the team through the project by ensuring the schedule, budget and communications are aligned to hit the project's goals.

Position Responsibilities:

Under direction of director, the project manager creates workflows, assigns tasks & deadlines to applicable team member & tracks them. It alerts the team to roadblocks to timeline completion.

This position maintains budget spreadsheets to track expense breakdowns by platform and by campaign. It ensures correct departments are paying for marketing spending.

It serves as a secondary editor for all projects in the department and makes appropriate recommendations.

It coordinates and prepares materials, information, meetings, programs, reports presentations, communications as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

At least 2 years experience in project or office management or something similar is preferred.
Experience coordinating complex projects, processes and people.
Experience working in a team to develop and execute marketing and communications plans.
Experience using project management software to manage assignments, workflow, deadlines and communication.
Knowledge of processes and resources required to complete marketing and communications projects for a variety of platforms: web, social media, print, email, digital signage, products, etc.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000/year

Grade: GGS-10
