The US Banks Business Risk is the 1LOD risk management team responsible for the management of the non-financial risk the US Banks. We seek an Assistant Vice President ("AVP") to join the First Line of Defense Business Risk team. He or she will support the newly created centralized risk reporting function.
Responsibilities:
• Assisting in the build out of the newly created Centralized Risk Reporting Function within US Banks Business Risk
• Planning and executing on the department's strategy to enhance the risk control environment by leveraging emerging technology, automation, dashboarding etc. for efficient risk reporting and analysi
• Defining and developing reporting/analytics, monitoring of business risk programs, management and committee level reporting. This includes reporting on issues/action plans, operational risk incidents and metric
• Assisting in enhancing reporting efficiency by leveraging automation and dashboarding
• Collaborating with stakeholders and risk partners across multiple business functions to execute strategic initiatives and project
Qualifications:
Required Skills/Experiences:
• 5-6 years of professional experience in the financial services industry. Professional experience in risk management, finance, legal/compliance, or audit is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with operational and business risk management is highly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree; preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economic
• Ability to leverage and analyze data to inform focus and views on risk management
• Attention to detail, strong analytical, quantitative, and investigative problem-solving abilitie
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; capable of clear and concise writing, making presentations to an internal audience, and interacting positively with senior management, colleagues, and client
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment, both independently and as part of a team, under tight deadlines and with the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently, efficiently, and effectively
• Strong project management and technical reporting skills i.e., dashboard creation
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products and reporting tools, i.e., Advanced Excel, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $80,000 and $125,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
• Expanded legislation requires that roles that sit in other state locations, but report to a manager in NY, must have the above language included in postings with the pay scale reflective appropriately to the location where the role will be sitting.
