In the role of Bridge Project Manager, we'll count on you to:

  • Plan and manage all aspects of small to medium single-discipline engineering projects or large, routine projects
  • Foster and develop client relationships for yourself and your staff
  • Independently coordinated the work of engineers and balanced the planning team throughout the entire project's development
  • Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings
  • Track the financial aspects of projects and coordinate or adjust work efforts with the team to ensure that work is completed within the agreed-to-schedule parameters.
  • Collaborate with peers and team members to create a cohesive practice
  • Perform complex structural planning, analysis, and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects to ensure the completion of documents on schedule
  • Work on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable-stayed), box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects
  • Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, develop structural details using specialized structural design and analysis software, perform structural load calculations, and assist with geometric layout and quantity development
  • Review, assign work, and/or check design calculations, estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and EITs
  • Mentor younger staff and support continued development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering
  • PMP certification
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation, AutoCAD, MathCAD, LARSA
  • Experience mentoring junior staff
  • Proficiency with seismic design and detailing of bridges
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • 10 years of Caltrans Bridge Design Experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in California
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills, and ability to work with various teams
  • Prestress Concrete Design
  • CIP Concrete design
  • Strong organizational, listening, and mentoring skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Experience using structural analysis programs and bridge design software


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 7 years related experience
  • A minimum 2 years project management experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • MS Office and MS Project experience is required (Access experience would be plus)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
