Brownfield Project Manager

Are you an environmental scientist who would like the opportunity to help DTSC revitalize vulnerable communities and advance environmental justice goals? DTSC's Office of Brownfields is looking for a highly energetic professional who has experience with environmental consulting or regulatory oversight of brownfield investigation and cleanup projects. In this exciting role, the selected candidate will provide manage voluntary agreement projects, projects funded through the Equitable Community Revitalization Grant (ECRG), and assist with Office of Brownfield operations. As an Environmental Scientist you will have the opportunity to:

• Review or prepare technical reports and other documents including, but not limited to:
  sampling workplans and reports, cleanup plans, land use covenants, and other California Health and Safety Code Chapter 6.8 compliance-related documents
  
• Author letters and other communication materials related to technical evaluations of submitted documents
• Author public participation related material
  
  
• Plan and manage a workload consisting of multiple assignments on projects with sometimes conflicting deadlines to ensure all assignments are completed on time and within budget
• Prepare and maintain accurate project schedules and records

Desirable Qualifications We Look For:

This position requires at least two years of experience and qualifications in the following areas, which should be clearly reflected in the Application employment section:

• Environmental consulting or environmental regulatory oversight agency
• Environmental investigation, assessment, and/or characterization of contaminated properties
• Environmental mitigation and/or cleanup of contaminated properties
• Written science communication, including preparation of investigation, cleanup and/or Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment reports and workplans
• Verbal science communication, including public speaking
• Data mining, data analysis, and data presentation
