Job Description

The Budget Analyst will be responsible for financial reporting to monitor CHS' expenditures and assist with developing budget projections. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Finance, this position will provide support the daily operations of the Finance team and assist with coordinating inter-departmental projects. The Budget Analyst will also assist the Chief Financial Officer with special projects as requested. The position offers independence to develop, organize, and manage inter-departmental projects to improve workflows and services for our patients.

Detailed Tasks:

Responsibilities:
• Develops and maintains financial reports required to monitor expenditures related to staffing and procurement of equipment and supplies.
• Updates budget tracking documents/dashboards and creates analyses to evaluate spending trends.
• Assists with coordinating and monitoring of project timelines and deliverables to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and timely.
• Maintains and disseminates to departmental leadership tracking and summary documents and dashboards.
• Critically reviews, organizes, and updates departmental matrices and related documentation.
• Reviews and identifies fiscal/operational issues and recommend options and preferred course of action with supporting fiscal and policy analysis.
• Conducts in-depth analyses related to the efficacy of resource allocation.
• Supports the development, evaluation, implementation and monitoring of key correctional health programs and new initiatives in the New York City jail system.
• Performs ad hoc reporting and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
1. A Baccalaureate Degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university; and,
2. Two years of experience in business, government, hospital, educational or a non-profit organization in analysis, development and implementation of systems and sub-systems. Familiarity with EDP applications and data processing programs; or,
3. A Masters Degree in Management, Business Administration or approved related fields from an accredited college or university may be equated to a maximum of one year of related experience; or,
4. A satisfactory combination of education, training and experience.
