Business Support Specialist serves as the primary administrative support and liaison for the Chief Inclusion Officer providing high-level technical, confidential, administrative, and office assistance to the Chief Inclusion Officer so that office activities are implemented in a timely, efficient, and effective manner. This position will provide administrative and technical support to Office of Inclusion staff members at the direction of the Chief Inclusion Officer, assist with press-related correspondence, and support Office of Inclusion planned events. This position will provide internal and external customers, clients, and Office staff with prompt and correct information, assistance, and services. This position will work to ensure that the office is creating a strong, diverse, equitable, inclusive, and thriving Minnesota that is free of discrimination by working to identify opportunities for relationship-building with key stakeholders.
  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate communications for the Office of Inclusion so information about the Office and its activities are appropriately shared with MMB leadership and staff, other state agencies, and members of the community.
  • Provide administrative support for the Office of Inclusion, maintain confidential/emergency data, manage relations with other divisions, develop meeting agendas, and prepare organizational charts.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Two (2) years professional experience supporting business meeting agendas, creating detailed project plans and drafting communication materials for the public.
  • Please make sure your resume clearly describes your experience in:
    • Planning and coordinating meetings, developing agendas, and coordinating planned activities.
    • Experience in purchase orders and contracts.
  • If you meet the above minimum qualifications, you will then be contacted to submit a written assignment for further consideration.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in developing and drafting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion materials for the public, Governor's office, Commissioner's office, and state agencies to increase visibility and communicate priorities.
  • Experience with SWIFT payroll system.
