The University Life division consists of four departments: Student Life, Center for Student Success and Intervention, Religious Life, and Community Impact.
Community Impact (CI) is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and culturally competent Social Services Case Manager to join our team. Reporting to the ESOL Program Manager the Social Services Case Manager will supervise the Social Services team that assists CIs adult education adult learners with social services, government benefits, and next steps programs. This includes but is not limited to, immigration, housing, healthcare, childcare services, and employment assistance programs.
This is a grant-funded position.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary case manager for adult learners across three programs; ESOL, GED and Cafe Prep.
- Provide direct supervision, support, and mentorship to a team of up to 6 Student Support Coordinators.
- Conduct regular team meetings and one-on-one supervision sessions to discuss case management strategies, challenges, and progress.
- Ensure that Student Support Coordinators maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including assessments, care plans, progress notes and all grant-required paperwork, such as the Individual Student Record Form (ISRF), Initial Contact Form (ICF), and JobZone.
- Collaborate with the Program Managers of each Adult Education team and hold meetings to develop and implement case management programs and initiatives.
- Develop and deliver training programs for Student Support Coordinators to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Maintain attendance records and work collaboratively with the GED Manager and Coordinators on student needs, participation, and retention.
- Organize and facilitate semi-annual community-based health fairs.
- Review and upload case management documentation to ensure compliance with organizational compliances on the Adult Student Information System and Technical Support (ASISTS) database.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent experience required, 2-4 years of experience. Background in Social Work or Psychology preferred.
- Certified Case Manager (CCM), or equivalent credentials.
- Multilingual (Spanish Highly Preferred).
- Complete 14 hours of professional development hours as required by the Regional Adult Education Network (RAEN).
- Ability to engage a diverse population of adult learners; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong awareness of the barriers facing immigrants looking to integrate into the US workforce and academic environment.
- Willing to travel within the Harlem, Manhattanville, and Washington Heights communities.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- This position works two later shifts ending at 9 pm 2-3 times per week.
