Work Environment:The Belmark Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Bellin Health is one of only a handful in the nation to incorporate a family-integrated, private room model, where mom and baby both start together and stay together in the full embrace of exceptional care. The research shows what nature knows-moms and babies belong together. While traditional NICUs employ a pod model that separates babies from the nurturing and comforting sounds, smells, contact, and movement of their mothers, the Bellin model embraces them together, wrapping them in expert care and compassion.
Shift Hours:
Shifts will be overnights and weekends. Must have 40 hours/month availability. 16 of those hours must be worked on weekends
Job Description:
Responsible and accountable for providing quality professional nursing care to patients and their families and significant others adhering to the WI Nurse Practice Act, Administrative Code of the WI Board of Nursing, and/or appropriate nursing standards governing nursing in the state of practice, the ANA Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses and Bellin Health Policies and Procedures. The responsibility includes providing a safe environment for patients, families, staff, and visitors and working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary health care team to provide the best outcomes for the patient. Community involvement and collaboration is encouraged. Lactation assessment, care planning, patient and staff education, mother-baby couplet care.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.

Wisconsin RN license required.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required by completion of orientation. Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work, Emotional Support (S.T.A.B.L.E.) program completion required within six months of hire.

Previous NICU experience preferred
