Job Description:

As a Certified Surgical Technician at Physician's Surgery Center of Chattanooga, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical procedures. You will work alongside a team of dedicated healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care and support to our surgeons.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and organize surgical instruments and equipment for procedures.
  • Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, sutures, and other supplies.
  • Maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure efficient procedures.
  • Assist with patient positioning and preparation.
  • Sterilize and disinfect surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Monitor and record vital signs of patients during surgery.
  • Assist with patient transport and transfer to the recovery area.
  • Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and equipment.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to provide excellent patient care.

Required Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures.
  • Experience in a surgical setting preferred but not required.
