The Chariot Program Coordinator will be responsible for managing and optimizing the use of technology to support education and training initiatives within the hospital. This role involves the development, implementation, and evaluation of technology-based educational programs for clinical and non-clinical staff. The coordinator will work closely with various departments to ensure that training programs are effectively delivered, accessible, and aligned with the hospital's overall goals and compliance standards.

Essential Functions

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.
  • Acts as a liaison and resource between the Childhood Anxiety Reduction through Innovative and Technology (Chariot) program, LPCHS School, and the Child Life and Creative Arts Programs, rehabilitation program, volunteer program, and chariot assistants
  • Acts as a consultant/resource for the LPCHS teachers, PTs, CCLS, volunteers to aid in the development of an evidence-based, technology-integrated curriculum appropriate to LPCH patients and family.
  • Develops an evidence-based, technology-integrated curriculum appropriate to LPCH patients and family. Engages in interpersonal communication and can communicate with staff, patient and their families, and IT team members to identify and address their technological needs.
  • Coordinates the clinical activities of the Chariot CCLS, PT, Chariot assistants, and volunteers, which includes the full scope of hiring and onboarding of volunteers and conducting daily huddles with the team. In addition, schedules staff according to the needs and requests.
  • Coordinates/tracks requests for technology support and works to resolve Immersive Technology equipment issues, such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and projectors.
  • Primarily responsible for data collection regarding technology use and collaborates with CHARIOT team to share data and analysis in compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA). Oversees equipment, supply allocation, and tracking. Facilitates periodic inventory review of VR headsets, projectors, and ancillary equipment.
  • Acts a primary liaison between the clinical team and physician directors to ensure we are responding to the requests and needs of the departments, patients, and families.
  • Coordinates, maintains, and tracks the work of the Chariot Assistants and volunteers to conduct regular equipment checks, troubleshoots, and resolves issues or escalates accordingly.
  • Ensures equipment meets medical center policies and procedures and is cleaned in compliance with medical center infection control guidelines.
  • Facilitates training on proper use of immersive technology equipment.
  • Maintains knowledge of current educational materials and trends.
  • Identify resource needs (staff and volunteers) needed to delivery and sustain optimal program results.
  • Direct and manage the activities of others as appropriate.
  • Plan and coordinate the development and implementation of programs and activities that benefit the needs of the hospital.
  • Teach, disseminate and present information about available programs and services to patients and physicians.
  • Oversees volunteers and volunteer programs within the department as needed including developing volunteer training materials and maintaining volunteer schedules.
  • Facilitates efficient written and verbal communication with volunteers prior to, during and upon ending their role within the department.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field.

Experience: Two (2) years of directly related experience

  • Provide students with prompt and personalized feedback, monitor progress, guide student management of coursework and resources, and develop appropriate virtual interventions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage and adapt learning experiences to each student by emphasizing inclusion and collaboration, identifying, and analyzing learners and learning tasks, goals, objectives, and assessments.

Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.

Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.

Minimum to Midpoint Range (1.0 FTE): $70,283.20 to $93,236.00
