This is a new position that will create additional efficiencies and oversight on all financial aspects of the NMDOH.

Why does the job exist?

This position will provide oversight and direction for financial processes by increasing internal controls around budgeting, accounting and all aspects of procurement.

How does it get done?

The incumbent will work closely with not only the Administrative Staff at the Department level but also with all financial directors and appropriate staff within the Divisions/Centers to create a streamlined, efficient, and timely process for all aspects of procurement to eliminate any procurement violations and audit findings.

This job is done for the entire department staff, sister State Agencies, and community partners plus more importantly in support of services provided to all New Mexicans across the State.

Ideal Candidate

Certified Government Financial Manager
Experience with SONM Finance procedures and requirements.

Minimum Qualification

A Master's Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and twelve (12) years of executive level experience with a broad business strategy impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office and field setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive personal computer and telephone usage, and daily contact with adult offenders and/or inmates.
