Job Description

Clerical Associate Ill's assigned to the Business Office, perform all duties related to financial counseling, registration and cashiering. Assignments are based on daily need and available coverage.

These tasks include the following but are not limited to:
• Conducting registration to obtain identifying information, such as demographic, biographic and insurance status. Information is entered accurately, into the EPIC system.
• Assessing reason(s) for patients visit to Business Office and annotate reason into Patient Advantage.
• Establishing Medical Record Numbers for new patients.
• Performing systems checks to verify insurance coverage including EPIC, RTE and ePaces for Medicaid.
• Verifying third party coverage and obtain authorizations when required.
• Accepting patient payments of cash, money orders, debit and credit cards including Issue payment receipts.
• Reconciling all payments received against receipts issued and prepare daily proof of cash reconciliation report.
• Submitting daily reconciled cash payments, receipts and reports to department designee for review.
• Updating patient installment agreements and ensure payment amount correct.
• Following proof of cash reconciliation policy and all other cashier procedures and functions.
• Performs all other duties assigned by Supervisor and/or designee.

Minimum Qualifications
1. A high school diploma or its educational equivalent; and
2. Six (6) months of full-time satisfactory clerical experience and/or experience interacting with the public, such as processing sales; taking, processing, and delivering orders; obtaining and dispensing information; listening to and resolving customers concerns, problems, and complaints; and/or performing related customer service activities.
