Job Description

  • Oversee data reporting for all H+H SUD acute care-funded initiatives within H+H SUD programs as well as those managed through the Office of Behavioral Health (OBH).
  • Oversee development and optimization of SUD acute care services dashboarding, Epic electronic medical record (EMR) clinical documentation tools, and reports to inform QI and satisfy grant funding deliverables.
  • Provide data validation, especially for totals, rates, and additional statistical statements published in reports and dashboards.
  • Provide descriptive and analytical reports, including tables, graphs, and figures; adhere to deadlines for regular periodic reporting and fulfill ad hoc requests for targeted data and analyses.
  • Partner with dashboard/report sponsors to gather requirements, document business processes and workflows, and explore potential solutions with the service delivery teams.
  • Interview end users and stakeholders to assess business and clinical needs; create business, functional, and technical requirement documents based on captured data and, in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.
  • Create data solutions that support the stakeholder's need for report generation, automation, scripting, coding and/or troubleshooting.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide analysis and propose change and communicate strategies.
  • Communicate requirements to technical personnel through the construction of basic conceptual data, process models and flowcharts, and technical specifications.
  • Verify that solutions meet business, compliance, and technical requirements prior to publication.
  • Provide SUD acute care service project management assistance with the development, implementation, and optimization of programmatic workflows.
  • Plan, organize, facilitate, and lead meetings and workgroups around SUD data and assigned workflows; oversee and execute follow-up activities.
  • Liaise with academic or other partners to support programmatic evaluation/research.
  • Participate in behavioral health/SUD departmental and interdepartmental meetings.
  • Contribution to peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations on SUD service interventions, highlighting outcomes and informing best practices for future programming.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor and departmental leadership


Minimum Qualifications
1. A Masters degree or advanced clinical degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience gathering and documenting business, clinical, and/or functional requirements using interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis or related in a clinical, allied health, non-allied health, behavioral health, information technology, information services, business, analytics or related area; or, one (1) year of experience in a relevant clinical and/or healthcare administration role/function; or
2. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of experience as described above; or
3. A satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience.
4. Specialty certification(s) issued by a national commercially available program, state, professional society, academic or technical institution in an area(s) listed above, may be credited on a month-to-month basis toward the required work experience for a total of one (1) year.

Department Preferences

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and other Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience gathering and documenting business, clinical, and/or functional requirements for software applications development and implementation in a clinical, allied health, non-allied health, behavioral health, information technology, information services, business, analytics or related area
  • Experience with or exposure to data analysis in SQL, SAS, R, Python, Microsoft Excel, and Tableau
  • Experience analyzing EMR-derived data is a priority
  • Experience working effectively in a public hospital setting or a closely related field including long-term, acute, ambulatory care, medical service administration, public administration, or within substance use programming
