The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Health Behavior, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator III. The Clinical Research Coordinator III position involves managing multiple aspects of the research lifecycle, including protocol development, participant recruitment, data collection, and reporting. The coordinator will work closely with faculty, research teams, and external partners to ensure the successful design, implementation, and management of studies and projects. Responsibilities include preparing and submitting regulatory and administrative documents, managing project timelines and milestones, overseeing the accuracy of study data, and ensuring compliance with institutional and federal regulations.

General Responsibilities
  • To serve as a lead coordinator by providing oversight to less experienced staff to ensure quality and regulatory compliance with clinical research operations.
  • To coordinate and manage the research study lifecycle from start-up through close-out. To coordinate and conduct all applicable clinical and administrative activities required by the protocol such as screening, scheduling, consenting, assessing, ordering, collecting, documenting and shipping under the auspices of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Annual Salary Range: $60,835 - $98,855

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) certification preferred.

Preferences
  • Familiarity with UAB's research and financial administration policies, procedures, and systems is essential.
  • Experience with disability health and rehabilitation sciences is essential.
  • Experience with community engagement and/or community-based participatory research (CBPR) is essential.
  • Proven ability to track project progress, maintain accurate records, manage timelines, and handle reporting.
  • Competency in managing communications and logistics for meetings and study-related events.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks within defined timelines.
  • Clear and effective communication skills for working with research teams, stakeholders, and UAB's administrative departments.
  • Problem-solving abilities, particularly in navigating challenges related to study execution and operational efficiency.
  • High level of adaptability and a proactive mindset to drive projects forward.
