The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Ped - Gastroenterology, Hepatology, & Nutrition, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I. This position will provide clinical research coordination for pediatric clinical trials within the pediatric clinical trials office, (CTO).

General Responsibilities
  • To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed.
  • To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.
  • To conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • To assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork.


Key Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Collects and records data for clinical trial participants including completion of case report forms (CRFs).
  2. Assists with enrollment of participants on trials and determination of eligibility.
  3. Assists in coordination of required observations on study including lab work.
  4. Coordinates collection and participates in processing and shipment of patient samples related to study activities.
  5. Performs general clerical duties (faxing, scanning, routing messages, coordinating the purchase of study supplies/ materials.
  6. Prepares study records to ensure compliance with sponsor and regulatory requirements.
  7. Assists in preparation for and participates in site monitoring visits and audit activities.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.


Annual Salary Range: $43,890 - $71,320

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.
