JOB SUMMARY

The Product Support and Data Quality Manager is responsible for providing managerial oversight and support for product and data quality processes for assigned systems that support clinical research at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center (SKCCC). Data quality responsibilities are focused on ensuring that SKCCC can satisfy clinical research related reporting needs for operational reporting, the Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG), and the NCI's Clinical Trials Reporting Program (CTRP). Product support responsibilities are focused on implementing new systems and ensuring effective use of systems that support clinical research activity at SKCCC .

This is a mostly remote position but does require flexibility to come on-site as needed for individual projects. The position reports to the Senior Director of Research Support Services within the SKCCC's Clinical Trials Office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Quality
  • Oversee daily operations of data validation and data verification activities and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Establish and update SOPs for data validation and data verification activities as data requirements evolve.
  • Manage projects related to cleaning data and establishing new data requirements.
  • Ensure all required data is entered in CTRP in a timely manner including initial protocol registration, amendments, protocol status changes, and other protocol data changes, as required by NCI.

End User and Product Support
  • Manage Service Desk tickets assigned to the team, ensuring prompt responses and satisfactory resolution. Address tickets that require escalation.
  • Manage end user training including developing, delivering, and overseeing training sessions and training materials.
  • Track and monitor quality indicators to help identify areas requiring further training.
  • Provide guidance to business teams on system-related workflow development.
  • Ensure that new and modified workflows are documented and communicated to stakeholders. For example, when workflows or data entry requirements change, or system upgrades occur.
  • Work closely with vendors to understand product roadmaps, timelines, and impact of upcoming product releases.
  • Manage access to systems ensuring appropriate user role permissions and role assignments.
  • Assess new products being considered for implementation at SKCCC.
  • Manage deployment of new products including new software and integrations between systems.
  • Maintain knowledge of vendor contracts including subscription and payment terms. Monitor activities impacting financial agreements and reconcile vendor billing.
  • Review product updates to existing products and communicate updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Help research staff use new and existing products (software, database, etc.) by providing technical and customer service support. Act as a liaison between research staff and product vendors ensuring that products meet user expectations and function properly.

Staff Management
  • Supervise support staff including hiring, training, performance management, assigning work and workload management.
  • Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, coaching, and disciplinary action when needed.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities; keep employees motivated and working as a team.

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
  • Familiarity with terminology and processes associated with the conduct of clinical research.
  • Experience managing staff preferred.
  • Experience with project management tools and techniques
  • Experience implementing new processes
  • Experience with quality assurance and quality control activities and practices.
  • Experience with clinical trial management systems, preferably OnCore.
  • Experience reviewing, creating, and revising policies and procedures.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex situations and make informed decisions.
  • Attention to detail and proven ability to perform work accurately and efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Ability to prioritize work and multitask effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft products including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint


Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree Required

AND

Experience:

Bachelors Degree and 5 years of clinical research experience or Master's Degree and 3 year clinical research experience. 2+ years of lead/Project Management experience.
