Job Description:
Reporting to the Recycling Coordinator, the Commercial Vehicle Operator supports the University's waste operations.

Duties and responsibilities include

• Haul the University's waste and recycling materials.
• Monitor waste streams and compactors.
• Perform minor maintenance on the truck and keep the truck, hoist, roll-off equipment, dumpsters, and compactors clean.
• Maintain records associated with truck and weight tickets.
• Serve as backup for campus trash & recycling routes.
• Assist with deliveries, event shuttles, and other commercial vehicle operations.
• Assist with snow removal operations; and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to follow GPS and/or written directions. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions and lift up to 100 pounds, with frequent lifting /and or carrying objects up to 50 pounds. Ability to work weekends and evenings, and must be able to respond to an emergency within 30 minutes. Mechanical skills including: basic maintenance techniques and an understanding of hydraulic systems.
Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in operating commercial trucks/vehicles.
