The Community Development Relationship Manager II ("CDRM") is responsible for identifying community development needs for the low- and moderate-income ("LMI") in assigned assessment area and building relationships with community partners and other resource providers (e.g., other banks, credit unions, universities, local-city-state governments, etc.) involved in meeting those needs. The CDRM II creates and executes community development lending, investment and service opportunities that are responsive and appropriate to the needs of the community, according to Bank's business model, achieving an outstanding level of CRA performance in assigned assessment area(s).

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and grow existing sizeable community development loan portfolio in line with business line return and impact objectives.

• Conduct annual analysis of community development needs and form a responsive plan to address specific needs of the LMI, including distressed or underserved communities in assigned assessment area. Document summaries of partnerships, opportunities, and activities in the form of a CRA Performance Context ("PC"). The PC should describe how the Bank's efforts are responsive to the LMI needs identified and should detail innovation and complexity in the context.

• Represent the Bank in all aspects of community outreach and identifies opportunities to increase firm-wide engagement and strengthen the firm's Brand and reputation while coordinating an effective response that leverages the Bank's capital (both human and dollar).

• Maintains knowledge of, and relationships with, key community influencers such as advocates, policy and civic organizations, local-city-state governments, and other national, regional, and local nonprofits that serve the needs of the LMI.

• Identify and build relationships with community partners involved in meeting community development needs; assess the community partners' ability to meet the Bank's community development performance context.

Competencies Required:

• Strong working knowledge of laws and regulations related to CRA, community development lending products, investment opportunities / vehicles and public support programs.

• General knowledge of common tax credit solutions: New Market Tax Credits, Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Historic Tax Credits.

• Strong working knowledge of Small Business Banking.

• Solid technology abilities, including proficiency with Microsoft office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint) and strong internet research skills.

• Excellent listening, presentation, and communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills; ability to foster effective business partnerships with diverse teams.

• Flexibility to attend evening and weekend events on behalf of the organization.

• Self-driven and highly motivated; takes pride in meeting and exceeding goals.

• Ability to exercise sound judgment and independent discretion in evaluating information, making recommendations, and communicating with others.

• Professional appearance and demeanor; maintains a positive and congenial attitude; deals effectively with a variety of personalities with diplomacy, tact, and poise.

• Excellent planning and organizational skills with strong attention to detail and concern for accuracy.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

• 5-7 years' Community Development or banking experience with CRA/LMI/Community Development related consumer products and services required.

• Prior large bank CRA examination experience required.

• 5-7 years' Community Development Lending & Investing experience preferred.

• 2-3 years' Community Development and Small Business Loan underwriting experience preferred.

• Existing book of business preferred.

Formal Education & Certification:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or related field required.

• MBA preferred.

Work Status:

• Full-Time.

Supervisory Responsibility:

• None.

Travel:

• Up to 25% travel expected.

Working Conditions:

• Conditions involve lifting no more than ten pounds, sitting most of the time, but may involve walking, moving, or standing for brief periods, and occasionally lifting and carrying articles like files, ledgers, folders, etc.
