The Center for Leadership in Disability in the Mark Chaffin Centers for Healthy Development, School of Public Health is seeking a sponsor funded Community Services Specialist III to carry out the day-to-day student support and success of the IDEAL Program.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist students to understand and master skills required to meet workplace and higher education expectations
- Work with students with IDD, their families, and IPSE program staff to support student success
- Support and train undergraduate peer mentors to provide support to program students in the classroom, vocational settings, and in other program activities.
- Attend state and regional meetings on behalf of IDEAL
- Attend trainings to understand current and emerging trending in IPSE, supported employment, and job development for persons with I/DD
- Provide training and consultation to educators and community members to support IPSE implementation
- Work with employers and potential internship sites to develop meaningful employment experiences for program students
- Develop job shadowing and job skills training activities with on-campus entities that will be provided to program students on a continuous and rotating basis
- Pair students with employment opportunities
- Provide direct support to students and employers at job sites as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
- Clinical rehabilitation counseling certification and experience working with students with disabilities
