JOB SUMMARY
- The Education Line Services Specialist, under minimal supervision, performs a wide range of administrative support duties of a responsible and confidential nature that support the VP and Director of Education, as well as all of the Education service line to include Organizational Development, Student Services, Nursing Education, Nurse Residency Program, Nurse/ Respiratory Extern Programs, NSTEP, and Simulation & Innovation Center. This position performs administrative duties that support the effective operation of the Education Department. Skills are needed in budget tracking, creating reports, processing information, participating in key departmental administrative projects, screening inquiries and requests, and coordinating multiple schedules. This individual will work as a liaison between academic school partners to develop clinical rotation schedules, manage changes in scheduling, and monitor/update contract requirements. In addition, this individual will maintain duties specific to including maintaining files, assisting with special projects as assigned, maintaining records of purchases/repairs, processing vendor invoices through accounts payable system, and ordering and maintaining supplies for all departments. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision, and values of Phoebe. - Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs)
- Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
- Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs. For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills.
- General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels.
- May be required to change from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
- Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.
- May be scheduled as needed including overtime
- May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.
- Long-distance or air travel as needed - not to exceed 10% travel.
Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare, or Behavioral Science (Required); in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree; an Associate Degree and a Minimum of 4 years additional relevant experience is acceptable
- 1 - 2 years Experience in a hospital or managed care setting (Preferred)
