As a Staff Services Manager I you will have the opportunity to:
- Manage and direct staff responsible for Department of Toxic Substances Control's (DTSC) contract development, solicitation and administrative functions
- Plan, organize, and make administrative decisions based upon the policies and procedures of the State and DTSC; provides consultation to program and administrative staff; serve as centralized liaison for general contract development matters; participate in policy and procedural decision making that has a department-wide impact and proactively supports DTSC's goals to protect the environment through environmentally friendly contracting practices
- Direct the work of the Contract Development Unit to provide timely, legal contract solicitation efforts
- Manage and direct staff responsible for DTSC's contract development functions
- Plan, organize, direct, and provide managerial review of the work performed by staff in the Contract Development Unit
- Knowledge of state contracting processes and laws
- Knowledge and/or experience developing and executing services contracts and conducting procurements for the State of California
- Experience leading or supervising others
- Knowledge and/or experience using FI$Cal, the Financial Information System for California
- Experience facilitating training, meetings, and workshops and preparing and delivering presentation materials and information
- Experience handling and adjusting to high volumes of work, conflicting priorities, and critical deadlines
- Ability to recognize sensitive and/or confidential issues and use tact and discretion when discussing them
- Ability to communicate in writing and pays attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, stakeholders, and business partners
