Your Job

We are seeking a Customer Account Manager to manage GP Containerboard customer accounts by processing incoming orders, scheduling demand on paper machines, and managing orders to ensure customer's delivery requirements are met. This position interacts with external customers, sales reps, 3PL logistics, warehouse providers, and internal capability groups to develop and implement service and cost solutions. Our team services West Coast customers so answering emails/phones after 5PM EST will occur occasionally.

Location: This is a hybrid position based at our Georgia-Pacific Headquarters in Atlanta, GA.

Our Team

At Georgia-Pacific Containerboard, we produce paperboard products that serve a wide variety of markets - from consumer goods, eCommerce, industrial, and many more. Our mills and shipping ports are strategically located to serve customers worldwide. This CAM will report to the Sr. CX Manager and will work on a team with 5 other Customer Account Managers. They work closely with supply chain managers and production planners to ensure all customer needs are met in the most efficient and effective manner.

What You Will Do
  • Entering a high volume of complex customer purchase orders with attention to details, planning the timing of production, and tracking shipments.
  • Developing strong relationships with customers to support their needs, learn their trends, and become the primary interface to support all supply chain efforts for that account.
  • Interacting with customers to receive orders, cancellations, and clarify their needs. Communicating changes, delays, requests, etc. to sales reps and customer as appropriate.
  • Assist in resolving issues related to fulfilling customer orders that may occur at production phase, shipping or warehouse storage point.
  • Coordinating shipment of product, expediting shipments, arranging pick-up of defective product, etc.
  • Interface with sales and across cross-functional teams (operations, manufacturing, and transportation) to collaborate, develop, and implement service and cost solutions.
  • Solve customer account issues by identifying root cause, proposing realistic solutions, and executing the resolution with a sense of urgency and economic thinking.
  • Maintain customer pricing within GP's ERP system.
  • Manage the crediting and debiting of a customer's account when issues may arise.
  • Manage warehouse inventory levels to ensure customers' required products are readily available to be shipped.
  • Occasionally, there will be after hours needs that include things such as tracking down truck/rail shipments for HOT orders.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field OR 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Customer account management or supply chain experience
  • Microsoft Office experience to include Excel (create and modify spreadsheets using formulas and ability to manipulate data) and Word (create and modify documents)
  • Ability to travel (less than 10%) domestically to mills and plants


What Will Put You Ahead
  • 3+ years of account management or supply chain/logistics experience
  • Account management experience in manufacturing
  • Experience with order management /fulfillment/inventory programs
  • Experience building and maintaining long-term recurring customer relationships
