Data Scientist Senior
Deliver insights to help our clients turn data into action as a Data Scientist Senior at GDIT. Your work will provide transformative solutions to our clients' big-data obstacles by supporting the ATLAS contract under Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) International Operations (IO) programs. HOW A DATA SCIENTIST SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Provides analytical, statistical, and programming skills to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets; develop data-driven solutions to difficult business challenges
Coordinates with ATLAS/GDIT and IO leadership to provide data driven analysis, strategic planning, trend, and mission analysis and reporting to enhance IO missions around the world.
Assists with reporting to IO leadership, resource management, addresses ad hoc and special taskings, and identifies opportunities to enhance and improve the various IO mission tasks, and more.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Master's degree with two (2) years of relevant STEM work experience, or four (4) years of relevant STEM work experience and a Bachelor's degree in lieu of a Master's.
Required Experience: Must have five (5) years of experience supporting the Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Experience executing data science methods using python libraries for Data Cleaning/Wrangling, Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), Statistical Analysis, Data Visualization.
Required Technical Skills: Hands-on experience in object-oriented programming with a language such as C++, Java, or Python; Python as primary programming languages. Hands-on experience working on source-controlled code with a functional team in a tool like Git or Subversion. Hands-on experience programmatically interacting with cloud (e.g.: Amazon Web Service (AWS) services and products.
Security Clearance Level: Must have an active TS with the ability to obtain an SCI
Required Skills and Abilities: Knowledge and understanding of statistical and machine learning techniques to model, characterize, and extract meaning from structured and unstructured data.
Preferred Skills: Strong strategic communication skills to include presenting quantitative concepts in easy-to-understand formats and actively listening to identify business problems and their causes. Experience or exposure using python libraries such as pandas, NumPy, GeoPandas, requests, urlib3, Matplotlib, plotly, scikit-learn, sciPy, OpenCV, GDAL, Keras, PyTorch, Tensorflow, NLTK, spaCy, Gensim.

The likely salary range for this position is $101,150 - $136,850. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
