Position Summary

Job Location: 100 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10013

Note: Company "Hybrid" work attendance policy: In-office work attendance required at the aforementioned office address for collaboration days based on each team's requirement; telecommuting / working from home is permissible for remainder of the same month.

Duties: Exploratory research for the design and implementation of domain-specific signals based on computer data research and analysis on alternative data, and relating them to company, industry, and macroeconomic factors. Building quantitative models for asset classes in the private markets, generating economic insights based on data driven techniques, and relating trends in data indicators and model predictions to investment themes, strategies, or company level operational decisions/value creation opportunities. Using statistical modeling and computer science-based methods to assist in generating economic insights, relating trends to investment themes to guide decisions in the private investment process during all three stages: sourcing, due diligence, and value creation.

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Finance, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field. Position does not require specific years of experience but requires listed skills.

*Skills required: Must have demonstrated knowledge of analyzing high dimensional, sparse datasets to generate insights guiding key decisions. Must have demonstrated knowledge of recognizing when and how to explicitly or implicitly combine information from various datasets to enhance their value. Must have demonstrated knowledge of model development with scientific computing methods and big data technologies such as Spark. Must have demonstrated knowledge of time-series analysis and natural language processing. Must have demonstrated knowledge of manipulation of structured and unstructured datasets with open-source statistical languages such as Python. Must have demonstrated knowledge of exploratory data analysis and visualization with visualization frameworks such as matplotlib, Seaborn, or Plotly. Must have demonstrated knowledge of statistical machine learning and deep learning through frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, pytorch, keras, or huggingface. Must have demonstrated knowledge of conducting data research trials and making recommendations for/against data acquisitions. Must have demonstrated knowledge of econometric analysis, causal inference, recommender systems, and deep learning. Must have demonstrated knowledge of programming with object-oriented languages such as Python and including the ability to design and implement data pipelines. Must have demonstrated knowledge of relational database systems, including the ability to optimize queries in SQL. Must have demonstrated knowledge of investment management and financial analysis through the analysis of P&L, inventory, cash, and inter-company transactions. Must pass company's required skills assessment. Employer will accept any amount of graduate coursework, graduate research experience or experience with the required skills.

The base pay for this role will be between $165,000 and $300,000 per year. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans and 401(k) contributions. Discretionary bonus can be a significant portion of total compensation. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their skills, qualifications and experience.
