JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Dental Office Manager administers the comprehensive daily activities of the clinic. This position provides staff supervision, oversight of patient scheduling, coordinating work/duty positions, and conducting routine business office functions.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: Six (6) years of experience as a Clinical Dental Assistant. Must maintain registration as a licensed dental assistant in the State of Tennessee.Must obtain Nitrous Oxide Monitoring and Radiology Certification within one year of employment. (PROOF OF LICENSURE IS REQUIRED).
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: A Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) in the State of Tennessee, with certification in radiology and nitrous oxide monitoring is required. (PROOF OF LICENSURE IS REQUIRED)

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Dental Office Manager administers the comprehensive daily activities of the clinic. This position provides staff supervision, oversight of patient scheduling, coordinating work/duty positions, and conducting routine business office functions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises and coordinates office staff, students, and providers to best meet patient treatment requirements.
- Manages personnel records, PTO/STO/FMLA eligibility and use as well as initial and annual training records/requirements.
- Supervises, monitors, and manages all financial operations of the clinic including ordering, payment, vendors and support services as well as budgetary compliance.
- Trains personnel to clinic standards to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Ensures clinic and operating systems are opened to patient care and closed at the end of the day.
- Coordinates extra-curricular activities with external agencies, schools, health clinics and community activities.
- Assists in any clinical position due to staff shortage or high-level patient care in areas of sterilization, patient processing, and student assistance.
- Monitors and ensures compliance with critical protocol directives in areas of infection control, bloodborne pathogens, and personal protective equipment.
- Performs other duties as required and necessary.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of basic business functions and execution.
- Knowledge of basic dental treatments, terminology, and delivery of dental care.
- Familiarity with basic dental insurance, 3rd party payors and TennCare.
- Basic computer skills with clinical and business office software.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse population and community of patients.
- Ability to function as a team leader using tact and professional discretion to encourage the highest performance standards. Ability to gather data, compile information, and statistics to prepare reports for internal and external use.
