Responsibilities
GENERAL PURPOSE:
This position works closely with the Sr. Director of the Health Equity Program Support Office (HEPSO) and Assistant Director of HEPSO to promote streamlined efficiencies and optimal flow of resources across multiple project plans focusing on improving the equity of Health at UR Medicine. In addition to providing administrative support for multiple specialized projects the Departmental Program Specialist I supports the operations and management of the HEPSO department. The Departmental Program Specialist I must demonstrate initiative and flexibility to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, agility to identify and mitigate risk factors, and comfort working within tight deadlines. The Departmental Program Specialist I will represent the HEPSO Director and Assistant Director by demonstrating emotional intelligence, judiciousness, and discretion when interacting with executive leaders and directors, faculty, clinicians, community leaders and representatives from community-based organizations, and government officials.

Pay Range: $23.06 - $32.29 Hourly
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program and Project Plan Coordination
- Coordinates all elements of multiple projects plans with a scope that crosses business units, affiliates, and regional partners. Responsibilities include but not limited to tracking milestones, organizing, and participating in stakeholder meetings, and ensuring that deadlines are met in a timely manner. Conducts follow-up activities to support adherence to timelines and goals. Provides support with the creation and maintenance of financial expenditures and reporting, including budgeting. (35%)
- Develops and manages calendars and task management systems to monitor multi-stakeholder initiatives and manage tight deadlines. Works collaboratively with diverse stakeholder groups. (20%)
- Assimilates and distributes information and data collected from multiple external sources in diverse formats. Manages bidirectional flow of information, analytical reports, feedback, and recommendations. (5%)
- Operations and Supervision
- Provides operational oversight of departmental initiatives and monitors timelines to ensure continuous progress toward deliverables and successful execution of project plans that support the Department's mission. Includes risk mitigation when possible and/or appropriate. (20%)
- Supervise Undergraduate Student(s). (5%)
- Designs and produces graphical and narrative presentations and customized reports for the dissemination of information and status updates as they relate to operations, decision making, and goal setting. Prepares and presents analysis reports and project updates. (10%)
- Acts as point of contact for and in absence of the HEPSO Director (5%)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- 2 years of related work experience in an administrative/academic office or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office with skills in Excel; ability to conduct data analysis required.
- Must possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills and experience and comfort in presenting to large and small groups of diverse stakeholders required.
- Must be able to operate in a dynamic and ever-changing environment and have flexibility to quickly adapt to changes requir5ed.
- Critical thinking skills and attention to detail are essential required.
- This position requires an annual re-certification in HIPAA awareness and annual renewal of an iCARE Commitment contract.
