DIB is a crucial part of California's safety net, responsible for managing Disability Insurance, Paid Family Leave, and State Disability Insurance (SDI) for State Employees. We provide vital wage replacement benefits to eligible California workers facing non-work-related illnesses, injuries, or pregnancies, ensuring they have the support they need during challenging times.

This position plays an essential role in managing and supervising the activities of 4-5 Associate Governmental Program Analysts (AGPAs). The unit manager will provide leadership, coaching, and direction for the activities of a group of analysts whose focus will be to participate in the design, development, testing, implementation, and integration effort of the EDDNext application. The incumbent will manage the collaboration of work efforts with the EDDNext Project Team, brief and advise the Section Manager, exercise initiative, and demonstrate tact and good judgment. The Unit Manager will exercise a high degree of independence and responsibility in all phases of the EDDNext Project and is an integral member of the DI Branch management team and is an active participant in management decisions.

This position is headquartered in the Central Office (DI Command Center) in Sacramento. Will consider candidates who are located throughout the State of California. This position allows for a hybrid telework schedule under EDD's telework policy. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telework. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Employees may be assigned to report to another DI office closer to their California residence. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters/office are the responsibility of the employee.

    Background Investigation Requirement
