Job Description

KOMU-TV, a full-powered NBC and CW affiliate proudly owned by the University of Missouri, seeks an energetic and dynamic individual to serve as Digital Operations Manager. This new member of our team will be responsible for producing and curating non-news content, conducting research and development, designing and implementing digital campaigns and strategies, identifying trends and compiling analytics, and serving the needs of KOMU 8's News, Promotion and Sales Departments.

In this role, you will report directly to the General Manager and serve as a leader of innovation, strategy, and technology. As the Digital Operations Manager, you will be a key figure among KOMU 8's IT, news, production, and marketing teams. Your responsibility will be to ensure that our digital strategy not only resonates with our audiences but also aligns with our strategic goals and brand identity. By analyzing and leveraging data-driven insights, you will refine and expand our digital initiatives and operations.
  • The individual will have the following key responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing digital strategies
  • Developing and managing the digital operations budget, ensuring strategic allocation of resources and technology
  • Monitoring analytics to gauge the effectiveness of digital campaigns and initiatives, translating data into actionable growth strategies
  • Spearheading initiatives to boost digital traffic and monetization, aligning with KOMU 8's revenue objectives, tracking digital revenue to ensure platform revenue opportunities are in line with platform role in execution
  • Seeking out and integrating emerging digital solutions to bolster station content offerings and platform functionalities
  • Keeping a pulse on digital trends, advocating for innovative practices that can boost KOMU 8's digital presence and engagement, such as videos, podcasts, blogs and newsletters, across various channels and platforms
  • Communicating and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders such as station management, School of Journalism colleagues, clients, vendors and influencers
  • Conduct research and develop relationships with vendors to align with station's future goals
  • Other duties as assigned


Shift

M-F, 8 AM - 5 PM with flexibility as needed to cover operational emergencies and station initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in digital marketing, communications, or related field
  • Proficient in various digital tools and software, such as content management systems, social media management systems, web analytics tools, and email marketing tools
  • Knowledgeable in SEO (Search Engine Optimization), SEM (Search Engine Marketing), PPC (Pay Per Click), and other digital marketing techniques and best practices
  • Familiar with digital media production and distribution processes and standards
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills
  • A creative, innovative, and analytical mindset
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Passionate about TV and digital media


Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $60,000 - $95,000. Compensation commensurate with experience and educational qualifications
