Join the manufacturing revolution! Leverage your Python programming and testing skills that will put you at the forefront of this exciting transformation. As our Digital Test Engineer, you'll play a key role in revolutionizing the industry.

In this high-profile role, you will help run our lab, develop and implement effective HIL (Hardware-in-the-loop) test strategies, ensure software quality, and collaborate closely with development and product teams. Your work will be pivotal in delivering product systems that meet the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Because of this, we seek candidates with a testing background in a manufacturing environment, expertise in embedded systems, and experience using lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, signal generators, multimeters, etc.). Additionally, you should bring capabilities in Matlab-based modeling and simulation systems.

Responsibilities

Test Strategy Development
  • Collaborate with the development team to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Define comprehensive test strategies that encompass the entire software development lifecycle.
Quality Assurance Planning
  • Create and maintain a quality assurance plan that outlines objectives, scope, and success criteria.
  • Establish a roadmap for quality assurance activities throughout the project.
  • Ensure key quality metrics are achieved.
Test Methodology
  • Champion best practices and methodologies related to quality assurance .
  • Develop and communicate guidelines for effective quality assurance processes.
  • Design test environments.
Collaboration and Communication
  • To ensure alignment, foster strong collaboration with the development and product teams.
  • Communicate quality assurance strategies and objectives clearly and effectively.
  • Assist development teams in achieving QA metrics effectively.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation
  • Identify potential risks and challenges related to software quality .
  • Develop and implement strategies for risk mitigation and issue resolution.
Continuous Improvement
  • Drive continuous improvement in quality assurance processes and methodologies.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging practices related to software quality .
Controls Lab Development and Management
  • Lead the effort to develop Controls Lab and manage activities.
  • Introduce and maintain processes related to Standard Work, DVP&R, Test Requests, Test Reports, Safety Reviews, etc.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering (or related field) / Associate degree or certification in a complementary technical field
  • Solid Python programming skills , coupled with 5+ of testing years of experience
  • Matlab and Simulink skills and familiarity with DFMEA
  • Cellular communication technologies including 3G, 4G, 5G, LTE, CAT-M1
  • 4-20mA sensors, Pressure Transducers, Thermistors, RTD sensors, electrical wiring, power electronics, and test setups

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
  • Site based with potential for occasional hybrid schedule.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 10-15% (primarily domestic to company testing and manufacturing facilities).
  • US Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident.

Key Competencies
  • Testing experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Python programming / Matlab .
  • Embedded System and Automation Testing.
  • Lab Instrumentation Use
  • IoT / IIoT v4 connectivity skills highly desirable.
  • Control systems for compressed air equipment and networks preferred.
