Director, Community Relations


JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Cultivate and lead the organization's interaction with community organizations, businesses and individuals to ensure the implementation and administration of the teams mission
  • Develop, direct and perform activities resulting in the development of resources including major gift acquisition, annual and direct mail campaigns, special fundraising initiatives, grant solicitation and capital campaigns
  • Design and develop special events created for fundraising, cultivation and/or donor recognition purposes, including key annual events such as Family Night Out and Riders Golf Classic
  • Responsible for leveraging Frisco RoughRiders game night fundraising opportunities for our community efforts during all 69 home games each season including jersey auctions and memorabilia sales when applicable
  • Oversee the 50/50 raffle each Frisco RoughRiders game night, including set-up, staffing, leading the sales efforts, collection and distribution of awarded funds
  • Manage current school and community partnerships and programs, and develop new outreach opportunities
  • Create and manage volunteer recruitment programs including engagement and activation
  • Oversee all requests for Frisco Roughriders donations, player appearances and other requests from individuals, events and organizations
  • Facilitate work of the Foundation/Community Board including planning, preparing for Board meetings, recording of minutes and generating communication updates to Board members
  • Proactively interact with the RoughRiders media relations and marketing department on the monitoring and upkeep of timely digital content, including website, social media and other external communications
  • Work across multiple departments for event planning, game night needs and special fundraising initiatives


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum three (3) years fundraising or equivalent experience with demonstrated success in donor cultivation, solicitation and maintaining relationships with individuals, foundations and corporations
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors and volunteers
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising and foundation best practices
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
