SUMMARY: Responsible for the administration of shoreside environmental and safety strategies, programs, and training across Crowley's enterprise. Coordinates with and leverages the strengths of business unit HSSE leads and departments. Develops and oversees the KPIs and metrics that track success of environmental compliance initiatives. Tracks changes to federal, state, and local regulations as they apply to environmental compliance programs.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops and administers comprehensive environmental compliance programs for unique business needs across the enterprise. Applies safety and environmental regulatory knowledge to development of compliance programs in diverse geographic settings. Builds effective environmental training programs for variety of levels and needs across business units and corporate functions. Provides leadership and technical expertise to Safety, Security, Quality and Environmental (SQE) operations personnel in all business units. Develop and implement environmental review program specific to facility level of risk and applicable regulation. Manage corporate environmental remediation portfolio. Lead and coordinate efforts of external remediation resources to create the best environmental outcomes with the most efficient use of resources - including external counsel, consultants, regulators, and stakeholders. Advise on environmental impacts of planned or ongoing capital projects. Consult on technical matters and provide leadership as appropriate. Consult with business unit and senior leadership team on matters of environmental risks and opportunities. Develop and ensure program implementation to meet applicable Federal, State and Local regulations and corporate requirements.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science or engineering, marine engineering/transportation or related field; or a combination of post high school and experience equal to twelve (12) years. Master's degree in environmental science, engineering, business or related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 10 years of experience in environmental compliance, remediation, or HSE function or maritime and transportation or related field.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and Power Point.
COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team. Ability to identify and/or document existing and new trends, as well as evaluate and predict their impact on the organization. Ability to provide subject matter expertise, counsel, and effectively influence others at various levels within the organization. Ability to prepare, monitor and administer budgets, as well as the ability to perform financial analysis. Knowledge of and ability to conduct need, trend, feasibility and performance assessments. Knowledge of training methodology and the ability to develop and facilitate technical/operational training to others.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Works both inside an office environment and outside in conditions of both high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders. May require extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time.
