Overview


The individual is primarily responsible for supporting the League office with management of financial reporting needs.

The individual will build out financial reporting processes and be a driver of the evolution of the team's role within the business. The Lead will be tasked with driving and coordinating financial information, and process improvements across the organization. The Lead will be responsible for the consolidated financial view for the company, collaborating, and coordinating across Finance and the rest of the organization to provide accurate and timely information.

The candidate will garner in-depth understanding of key financial and operational practices across a range of finance functions with a focus on building and establishing processes to support the team's day-to-day responsibilities. The candidate will have a strong understanding of Finance procedures and standards, coupled with the ability to build repeatable processes from scratch. The Lead will use systems and technical tools for process improvements, reporting, and other adhoc needs. This role will report into the Vice President of FP&A and with broad exposure to other areas of Finance and the League.


Responsibilities


  • Develop processes to provide consolidated analysis and reporting, working closely with various Finance team members.
  • Aid process for management reporting to help synthesize and communicate the financial narrative in concise executive and Board materials.
  • Build ad-hoc reports and analysis as needed to evaluate key areas of the business that requires a process change.
  • Optimize and automate processes for budget and forecasting with business leads, and monthly close process.
  • Assist with evaluation and implementation of new ERP system.
  • Drive cross-Finance process improvements and change management, including crafting, sharing, and rolling out standard methodologies in reporting and close processes.
  • Maintain systems by adding accounts, adjusting hierarchies, writing reports, clearing errors, and any other need that will arise.
  • Consistently ensuring the financial system and data is running efficiently and reliably.
  • Implement checks and controls to ensure accuracy of data and reporting.
  • Support the overall Finance quarterly forecasting process and calendar, improve the intra-quarter outlook process, and participate in the annual planning/budgeting process.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Support on projects as needed, including club financial reporting.
  • Ad hoc business reporting and analysis as needed.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Prior Finance Experience, preferably in a global or large media, tech or entertainment company, with a successful track record of working with teams.
  • In-depth understanding of core Finance activities, including reporting, budgeting/forecasting, financial analysis, and modeling.
  • Proven track record of advanced analytical skills and ability to work effectively with limited guidance.
  • Prior experience with SQL/BigQuery and BI/data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau).
  • Advanced Excel skills with a deep understanding of model architecture, formula efficiency, pivot tables, and macros.
  • Experience working in a highly collaboratively matrixed environment and leading through influence to achieve goals.
  • Analytical and strategic approach with the ability to problem solve through ambiguity.
  • Excellent project management skills.


Desired Skills
  • Financial systems experience such as Hyperion, Adaptive, Anaplan, Oracle, Great Plains,
  • Smartsheets, Microsoft BI - experience a plus.
  • Python, OpenAI and VBA experience a plus
  • Experience working with Finance or Reporting systems and data.


Total Rewards

Starting Base Salary $130,000 - 165,000. MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
