Your role

Do you have a strong risk and compliance background within Global Markets?

We're looking for someone like this to:

• be primary point of contact for second-line of defense Operational Risk coverage of the Global Banking, Research and Control Room functions in the Americas
• be a trusted advisor for GB, GREL and CR business teams on strong operational risk management practices and provide valuable operational risk insights
• review and challenge business execution of Operational Risk Framework requirements such as Risk Appetite, Risk Identification for RCSA, event reviews, new business initiatives, issue management, and control assessments
• independently evaluate the line of business operational risk profile by monitoring operational risk metrics and key performance indicators of the control environment
• perform thematic reviews, deep dives, control assessments, and other risk initiatives to provide risk management insights to stakeholders
• coordinate with Risk Taxonomy leads and other subject matter expects to develop an end-to-end Second Line of Defense view of the risk and control environment
• assessment of new products and other business initiatives for operational risks and suitability of mitigation and monitoring strategies
• engage in relevant cross- functional stakeholder groups on initiatives to be informed of impacts to the business, operating environment, operational risks, and internal controls

Your team

You will be working in our ORC team based in New York, reporting into the ORC Head for Global Banking, Global Research, and Control Room. This is a dynamic, driven, diverse, and collaborative team of professionals, with oversight responsibility for managing the operational risks arising from the UBS Investment Bank, specifically Global Banking, Research, and the Control Room business functions for the Americas

Your expertise

• experience working in an operational risk function and familiarity with operational risk frameworks
• proven knowledge of Investment Banking and/or Research products, services, systems, and Controls
• strong verbal and written communication skills
• ability to influence at various levels throughout the organization
• strong analytical mindset
