Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Clinical Services provides the leadership and strategic planning of the social services function in patient care. Ensures programs meet the needs of the community and the facility's performance goals and objectives. Provides leadership, management, and supervises social services staff (may include interns and graduate students). Responsibilities include the promotion and maintenance of a therapeutic environment and development and implementation of clinical treatment programs. Ensures compliance with quality patient care and Join Commission, CMS, state health department, and all other regulatory standards. Position may involve direct patient care functions including: completing social assessments, participating as an active member of the treatment team in formulating treatment plans and establishing discharge plans with patients, including family members when appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Master's Degree required from an accredited school of social work or related mental health field.

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years' experience in psychiatric/mental health field; experience in advanced clinical/management practice preferred.

License: LMSW or LCSW required.

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of Handle With Care Training within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting with restraining procedures. CPR is requiredA strong knowledge of JCAHO, HCFA, OSHA regulations, and patient rights standards and all other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities.
