The Director of Engineering for Mammotome is responsible for overseeing a diverse technical team and serving as a cross-functional strategic leader. This candidate will drive a deep understanding of our clinical applications, product knowledge, and industry trends. The ideal candidate will provide strategic direction, work cross-functionally to meet business objectives and ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality products and projects.

This position is part of the R&D and Engineering Organization located in Cincinnati, Ohio and will be an on-site or hybrid position. You will report to the Vice President of R&D and Engineering responsible for delivering innovations to our customers to meet strategic objectives, while maintaining our existing medical device portfolio. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Cultivate a cohesive and unified team of engineers & managers from multiple disciplines with shared objectives, standard practices, and fostering a culture of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I). Develop future leaders and ensuring a robust succession pipeline.
  • Collaborate with Project Management, Product Management, Operations, Quality, and Regulatory teams to define and execute the product roadmap for Mammotome. Take ownership of product development, continuous improvement, and lifecycle management for our products.
  • Establish and maintain standard practices in accordance with the Danaher Business Systems methodology for Innovation, New Product Development, and Lifecycle Management.

The essential requirements of the job include:
  • Extensive experience in the product development lifecycle, from upstream innovation through sustaining and product obsolescence
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field
  • Proficiency in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Medical Device Development or a similarly highly regulated field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in direct people leadership roles

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Knowledge of the Breast Cancer Care Pathway
  • Advanced technical or business degree
