PRIMARY FUNCTION :
The Director is an expererienced change management expert responsible for leading and coordinating transformational initatives across the care continuum. The Director assists senior executives within TJUH system with the implementation of the annual operating plan and serves as a resource to help leaders achieve best practice results in key performance indicators for quality, safety, service, people, growth, and financial outcomes. The Director acts as an internal consultant, responding quickly to direction from the senior exectives to assess operations, identify best practices, and redesign work systems and processes to achieve higher levels of performance. This often includes leading a multidisciplinary process improvement team, engaging stakeholders in process redesign, and designing systems to assure high reliability and sustainability. The Director services as a coach and mentor, educating the workforce on the deployment of change management processes, including lean, six-sigma, work-out, and DMAIC methodologies. The Director leads projects independentaly, but also tracks and coordinates projects led by direct reports and related departments, including TJUH System Performance Improvement and Jefferson Health Performance Excellence.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor's degree, Master's degree required (MBA, MPH, MHA, or equivalent)
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION :
Lean, Six Sigma, Change Management, and/ or Project Management certification preferred
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
7+ years working and leadership experience in healthcare (operations, finance, project management, performance improvement).
Experience in non-profit preferred.
Demonstrated ability to drive improvement projects and organizational results
Excellent relationship-building and relationship management skills
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to develop plans, manage and prioritize multiple tasks

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee execution of 1-yr operating plan projects and strategic initiatives to achieve divisional goals
- Project leadership includes: identifying opportunities; defining and financially justifying projects; allocating resources; launching project teams; utilizing project management principles to manage team activities; tracking project status and results; anticipating and removing project barriers; and developing team members.
- Ensure projects are integrated and aligned with other business activities, improvement projects, and strategy, including collaboration with corporate resources.
- Leads and support operational improvement efforts to drive operational efficiency and clinical program growth

OTHER FUNCTIONS AND COMPETENCIES needed in addition to Essential Functions:
- Manages the "project funnel," carefully evaluating the project scope, resource requirements, political barriers, and the potential ROI using an established project charter format. Priorities projects accordingly.
- Maintains a database of all projects and KPIS; produces scorecards to track results.
- Engages other Jefferson leaders with formal change management experience to accelerate transformational initatives. Maintains relationships with these individuals and develops them accordingly.
- Hires, supervises, coaches, develops, and recongnizes subordinate staff within the department. Engages the administrative fellows in change management initatives and mentors them during the fiscal year.
- Develops and deploys robust, executive oriented, analytics tools using Qlik, Epic, Vizient, and other benchmarking tools to track progress.
- Communicates progress reports to TJUH System managers and staff regarding key projects, results, and opportunities.
- Participates in divisional committees/teams to help develop and disseminate best practices.
- Engages staff and management in service and operations improvement projects.
- Communicates and shares data, reports, and best practices to increase awareness, buy-in, and recognition of improvement efforts.
