Summary

This role provides leadership and support to the senior executive position (CNO) responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions/services within the hospital organization.

The role will assume responsibility for assisting in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating nursing practice on a multi-unit level.

Role assumes 24/7 responsibility of Director's assigned areas.

The role is accountable to support CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates delivery of patient care.
  • Provides administrative direction to the development and evaluation of all Surgical Services and Ambulatory Care personnel.
  • Maintains operational aspects in collaboration with administrative support services.
  • Prescribes, delegates and coordinates nursing care.
  • Contributes to nursing and hospital support of philosophy, objectives, educational and research efforts.


Qualifications:

Education

Required:

Academic degree in nursing: Bachelor's required

Preferred:

Master's degree

Experience

Required:

Minimum 2-3 years managerial experience required. Minimum of 5+ years in Surgical Services required, to include experience as an Operating Room Staff RN.

Knowledge and experience inproviding safe, proficient, quality nursing care.

Excellent problem solving, listening and language skills.

Must be fluent in spoken and written English with proficient writing skills. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

Strong computer skills and proficient in computer applications such as MS Office, Optilink Staffing and Scheduling, Medhost/Cerner E.H.R., Kronos.

Certifications

Required:

Must be currently licensed, certified or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy.

Healthcare Provider BLS

Preferred: Active California RN license.
