Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a Domain Name Services (DNS) Systems Engineer to support the NIH Center for Information Technology. In this role you will be responsible for the configuration, deployment, and management of the customer's DNS solution in a 24x7x365 environment.

You will be responsible for monitoring, configuration changes, accounts, and software updates for the customer's DNS solution. You must be able to analyze, troubleshoot, and remediate issues within the enterprise.

Work Visa sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

HOW A DNS NETWORK SECURITY ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
  • Provide administration and implementation support for DNS technologies, including InfoBlox, BIND, and other DNS systems
  • Act as an escalation point for DNS and DNS secure related issues
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve for a wide variety of client/user LAN/Security related issues
  • Collaborate with other IT functional teams to ensure cohesive support and strategies across the IT organization
  • Maintain relationships with key Third-Party software/hardware vendors to provide support to the infrastructure as needed
  • Provide daily support for tickets, including service requests, incidents, problems, and tasks
  • Execute tasks to support projects
  • Must be available for weekly On-Call rotation with DNS Team
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field (or equivalent)

Required Experience: Must have a minimum of eight years related experience

Required Technical Skills:
  • Must have a minimum of 8 years of experience implementing and maintaining DNS
  • Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience in a Network Engineering role
  • Must have experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving a wide variety of client/user issues
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain and elaborate on technical details
  • Ability to self-direct
  • Ability to adapt to frequent changes in priorities and task assignments.
Security Clearance: Must possess active NIH Clearance / Public Trust

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with DNS InfoBlox
  • Familiar with other operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and Unix
  • Experience with ServiceNow
Location: Hybrid; must be able to come to office a minimum of one day a week and as needed

The likely salary range for this position is $101,566 - $134,550. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
