What You'll Do:
Conducts fiscal monitoring and evaluation of Ohio school districts, community schools, other project partners:
• Provides technical assistance to district personnel regarding the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) implementation;
• Assists school districts in receiving and utilizing Federal Student Program funds to improve student performance;
• Determines appropriate monitoring techniques (e.g., targeted review focused on use of federal IDEA funds);
• Collects data (through interviews and data collection tools) in order to facilitate plans for improving results for students;
• Conducts onsite and desk monitoring activities to determine compliance with applicable federal and state laws for the education of children with disabilities (IDEA);
• Prepares reports on school district compliance with IDEA regulations;
• Provides technical assistance to districts regarding planning, implementation and operation of IDEA;
• Provides technical assistance to districts regarding navigation, planning, and implementation of Comprehensive Continuous Improvement Plan (CCIP);
• Performs trend analysis using data to validate state efforts and to inform decisions relating to policy development, problem identification, individual district progress, and comparative studies relating national, state and local data;
• Monitors development, procurement and management of DEW/OEC sponsored grants, projects and contracted services;
• Responds to legislative and administrative requests for data based information.
Ensures development and implementation of district action plans to improve results for students:
• Verifies compliance with federal and state requirements;
• Interprets data on a national, statewide and district basis;
Serves as the liaison between IDEA Resource Management and district superintendents, treasurers, and program coordinators.
Performs other duties as assigned, including but not limited to:
• Designs, participates and presents professional development and technical assistance regarding IDEA regulations, guidance and operational strategies, budget and accounting requirements for financial accountability and EMIS requirements related to special education data.
