Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience working on technology, energy, or sustainability policy issues within industry, government, think tanks, public interest groups, law, or relevant industry associations.
• Experience working with energy or sustainability policy stakeholders and industry associations.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in public policy, business administration, energy, sustainability, climate, or other relevant field.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and a variety of stakeholders, and executing strategies to deliver exceptional solutions.
• Experience working with or in various branches, agencies, and institutions of federal or state governments.
• Experience in public policy advocacy issues on energy policy stakeholders and with Public Utility Commissions.
• Ability to exercise good judgment in a rapidly changing and sometimes stressful environment.

While we focus on challenges affecting the internet, our issue areas are increasingly broad and encompass many areas where public policy, business, and technology intersect.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $182,000-$248,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Develop and advance policy objectives that unlock access to reliable, carbon-free electricity for Google data centers, including policy issues related to electricity transmission, utility rate regulation, electricity market structures, advance carbon-free energy resources, renewable energy, and more.
• Develop and advance public policy measures to enable deployment of AI for energy and sustainability in the US in support of Google product teams, and facilitate product partnerships and engagement with regional governments.
