This is a fast paced, aggressive, entry-level program that is designed to challenge you at all times. At James Hardie, we value "out of the box" thinking and assertive problem-solving. In this development program, you will have countless opportunities to solve real - world manufacturing issues and implement your ideas while being mentored by other successful James Hardie team members.
2-Year Development Program Structure:
First Year:
Rotational training: You are placed at one of our 11 US Manufacturing Plants and will receive hands-on training through the entire fiber-cement manufacturing process
Projects: select and complete 3-5 projects within the plant, delivering an average of $100K in annual cost savings
Second year:
After successful completion of your first year, you will be promoted to Engineer I and assigned to a specific process or role across one of our 11 US Plants (Waxahachie, TX; Cleburne, TX; Fontana, CA; Reno, NV; 2 Tacoma, WA locations; Peru, IL; Pulaski, VA; Prattville, AL; Plant City, FL; Summerville, SC)
During this time your role will be less structured day to day, though you will still receive mentorship and training

- You will attend quarterly training weeks with your fellow program peers, mentors and key program leaders at our corporate headquarters in Chicago, IL and across multiple manufacturing facilities
- You will receive hands-on job shadow training from the individuals who make our product day in and day out
- Spearheading key projects that have a direct impact on the success of the manufacturing plants

Education/Expectations Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Material Science, or Electrical Engineering
- Able to relocate to one of our 11 U.S Manufacturing plants
- Authorized to work in the U.S
- Demonstrated work ethic through past co-op or internship, preferred
