As an Engineering Director, you will utilize expertise in Machine Learning, Large-Scale System Design, Responsible AI, or related areas. You will utilize experience in Computer Science with experience in one or more domains: Machine Learning, ML Infrastructure, Responsible AI. You will ensure comprehensive, automated, and robust ML lineage.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $278,000-$399,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Responsibilities
- 15 years of engineering and technical leadership experience.
- Experience managing partnerships or client relationships.
- Experience with Engineering Tools and Infrastructure.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working with LM/GenAI infrastructure.
- Experience managing risk for organizations of Engineers.
- Experience motivating others at all levels by creating a shared sense of outlook and purpose.
- Technical expertise in systems and software with the leadership skills required to influence technical leaders across the company.
- Ability to quickly ramp up in new subject areas with short notice to guide a few weeks of mission-critical research into the largest potential risks related to Google infrastructure usage.
- Excellent thought-leadership, relationship building, and management skills, with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Responsibilities
- Develop transparent and automated ML lineage and governance infrastructure and tooling for developing and launching Generative AI models and products in a compliant, secure, and safe, and with complete ML lineage and governance needs are to be balanced with developer velocity.
- Work with partners across Google to drive adoption. Influence partners and stakeholders within and across the organizations to build joint roadmaps and drive outcomes for AI governance.
