Our client is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead their engineering team and drive technical innovation at our aerospace composite manufacturing facility. In this role, you will be pivotal in advancing continuous improvement efforts, optimizing manufacturing processes, and maintaining exceptional standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership:
Lead the engineering team with technical expertise, guiding the development and implementation of advanced manufacturing processes for aerospace composite parts. - Team Management:
Mentor and lead a team of engineers, offering guidance and support to foster professional growth, while managing the team's performance to meet organizational goals. - Process Optimization:
Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization, integrating industry best practices to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency. - Continuous Improvement:
Champion a culture of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing. Encourage innovation and foster creativity within the team to enhance processes and technologies. - New Product Introduction:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product development, ensuring engineering milestones are achieved on time and within budget. - Resource Management:
Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management for the engineering team, ensuring adequate resources and skills are available to meet organizational objectives. - Tooling Management:
Manage the design, procurement, and acceptance of tooling for all aerospace composite products. - Vendor and Supplier Collaboration:
Work closely with vendors and suppliers to source materials and components, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards. - Quality Assurance:
Maintain compliance with customer requirements and regulatory standards, implementing robust quality assurance processes to uphold product quality. - Health and Safety:
Promote a culture of safety within the engineering team and across the manufacturing facility, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Export Control Compliance:
Must meet Export Control requirements; a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. - Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. - Experience:
Extensive experience in aerospace composite manufacturing with a deep understanding of composite materials, processes, and industry certifications. Proven leadership experience, including managing engineering teams and driving innovation in manufacturing environments. - Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory requirements in the aerospace industry.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing, walking, and sitting.
- Occasional use of hands for handling and reaching.
- Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
- Office: 75% of the time.
- Manufacturing Floor: 25% of the time, with moderate noise and occasional work near moving mechanical parts.
