Overview

The Industrial Engineering Organization provides mission-critical support to EB leadership and the functional organizations by developing and managing the organization's improvement strategies, executing improvement initiatives, mentoring and supporting employees in executing improvements, and measuring the impact of an organization's improvement activities.

This position will be responsible for leading Industrial/Process Engineering employees.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop and manage Directorate and Department level improvement strategies
• Plan and manage critical and complex assignments, interfacing closely with internal and external customers, and managing resources in their group to achieve assignment objectives
• Complete Work Center Design and EB Production System elements to support schedule adherence for the program
• Measure the impact of improvement activities on the business areas performance to goals
• Manage resources to achieve department goals, and take action to address resource / training gaps
• Support the coordination of advanced manufacturing and technology development through oversight of technology requirements and implementation strategy, business case development and implementation support

This position requires a high degree of professionalism, political savvy and clear, concise communication with all levels of management and internal / external personnel. The candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills and a team attitude, be able to support extended weekday hours and occasional weekend overtime activities. Must exercise a high level of confidentiality, tact, and discretion with personnel-related sensitive data.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering
• 4+ years project management experience
• Advanced Microsoft Excel training and experience (5+ years)
• Excellent presentation and oral / written communication skills
• Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

Preferred / Desired:

• BS in Industrial Engineering
• Previous supervisory experience
• FLG graduate
• Demonstrated success in mentoring team members to develop their technical and interpersonal skills
• Experience with EVMS, ARTEMIS, IMCS and Manpower Plan data analysis / interpretation
• Lean Manufacturing and / or Lean Six Sigma Black / Green Belt training
• Experience with Lean, Kaizen, or Toyota Production Systems
