Objective:
The Engineering Systems Specialist 3 will assist clients with the use of CAD/PLM software (Pro-Engineer, CATIA, and/or other CAD systems), provide product assistance and support, troubleshoot engineering software challenges, and document processes for the support team. This position will manage technical support cases, identify and document software issues, and collaborate with the Engineering team to develop resolutions. Additionally, the role requires building and maintaining strong client relationships, working under minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose CAD and PLM software issues.
  • Interface with customers and work with a diverse group of users with varying skill levels.
  • Provide technical direction, oversight, and support for internal customers on current and future CAD and PLM system processes.
  • Create customization and automation for CATIA and/or Pro/E software.
  • Develop and train users to support projects and company goals.
  • Maintain CAD and PLM environments, including settings, reference data, and user accounts.
  • Manage CAE software installations and support engineering analysis.
  • Provide help desk support, including phone and email assistance for software users.
  • Manage CAM software installations and support (EdgeCAM, MasterCAM, or similar programs desired).
  • Utilize test case management software to build test cases for development testing.
  • Participate in projects of significant scope, including requirements gathering and scope definition.
  • Enroll software licenses on applicable servers and perform custom application coding and maintenance (Java, C++, Visual Basic preferred).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field OR
  • Associate's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field PLUS 3 years of related experience OR
  • 6 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
Technical Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience administering and managing CAD Software and PLM Systems.
  • Experience with problem-solving teams and mentoring employees.
  • LEAN Engineering or 6 Sigma training desired.
Professional Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with Email and Calendar applications in a professional setting.
  • Expertise in CATIA and/or Pro/E CAD software.
  • Advanced knowledge of IT infrastructure and hardware (server setup and database administration desired).
  • Understanding of Model-Based Definition, Functional Tolerancing, Geometric Dimensioning, and Tolerancing.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design and installation procedures for CAD/PLM software.
Behavioral Skills:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to see tasks through to completion.
Desirable Skills:
  • RCCA, CATIA V5, SmarTeam, and Windchill experience.
Travel:
  • Domestic and/or international travel required; more than 1 week per year.
