Position Summary

The Enterprise Data, Analytics and AI team at Parker Hannifin is looking for a Data Engineer who is experienced with modern data wrangling methods and tools, has excellent communications skills, and thrives on finding creative solutions to complex problems. This role has lead focus on On-prem applications, but with increasing evolution to Cloud solutions. The Data Engineer will be a key contributor to the development, scalability, and management of our data infrastructure, with emphasis on data accuracy, freshness and accessibility to support enterprise analytics and AI initiatives.

Essential Functions

• Develop data pipelines and workflow management for extraction, transformation and loading of data in a hybrid cloud and on premise environment

• Design solutions to advance enterprise data accuracy, freshness and completeness

• Create best in class enterprise data assets leveraging Azure/Microsoft Power BI/SQL/Other tools

• Create data accuracy monitoring and reporting solutions leveraging Azure/Microsoft Power BI/SQL/Other tools

• Troubleshoot data quality errors by writing SQL queries / Python code / M Code etc.

• Engage with Microsoft and other key vendors to design best in class enterprise solutions

• Stays abreast of new Digital and IT technological innovation/processes

• Serve as the key point of contact for a growing data and analytics community throughout the organization

• Understand business impact; Create and communicate decisions impacting the wider business, effectively managing customer expectations

• Guide and train team members in technical business skills & processes

• Interpret business requirements effectively that can translate to information technology solutions

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer, ETL Developer, Analytics Developer, Software Developer or similar role

• Knowledge of at least one data management platform such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric / Power BI. SSIS / Informatica or similar also considered.

• T-SQL / SQL fluency

• Experience with stream processing, distributed data management and Python/PySpark a plus

• 4-year University / College Degree or significant technical certifications

• Five or more years' experience in Information Technology

• Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills

• Ability to maintain professional and strong relationships with business partners, contactors, and stakeholders

• Experience in Agile methodologies and can apply those processes to everyday work

• Experience in security best practices and compliancy requirements for area of expertise
