This is a Permanent-Intermittent position with a maximum of 1,500 hours of work per year .
The Department of Water Resources' Division of Engineering's Environmental Coordination Section is a team of professionals dedicated to supporting programs and partners across California for a variety of construction projects. Our team works with many Divisions in DWR to support a variety of large public civil-works projects related to water storage, water transportation, flood control, environmental protection, species conservation, habitat restoration, and recreation.

Under the supervision of a Senior Environmental Scientist, the incumbent performs a range of duties involving site assessments, California Environmental Quality Act and permitting, environmental compliance and monitoring field work, coordinating with design and construction staff to address environmental issues, and incorporating environmental measures into construction contractor plans and specifications.
Currently, the Division of Engineering is working greater than 50% of time in the office or in the field (approximately two to three days each week) with the remainder of time teleworking based on operational need.
