ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST/CHANNEL COAST/SANTA BARBARA SECTOR/REFUGIO STATE BEACH
The reporting location for this position is the Santa Barbara Area Sector Office at Refugio State Beach, Gaviota and will work under the close supervision of the Senior Environmental Scientist. The incumbent will also be part of a team assisting with the analysis and recommendations regarding natural resource protection that are in keeping with Department policies, procedures, and standards. This position will, together with other Resource members, field staff, and multi-disciplinary experts, assist with the development and implementation of strategies and activities needed for delivering resource services. We are looking for a self-starter who can work in a collaborative environment. Experience with use of technology in field data collection and resource management, Geographic Information System, California Environmental Quality Act, and National Environmental Policy Act are desirable.
