What you will do...
  • Operates combination of heaviest types of motorized construction equipment for canal construction & maintenance projects
  • Provides disaster assistance (e.g., fires, flooding, wind damage)
  • Performs routine maintenance & repairs on heavy equipment & semi tractor trailer
  • Maintains & completes accurate & concise maintenance records, project logs & reports
  • Operates/maintains, repairs hydraulic control structures and dam related monitoring tools
  • Performs operations, maintenance and inspections to specialized aquatic specie barriers throughout the basin
  • Position requires a Class A CDL, no restrictions
  • Starting hourly pay of $21.63/hr with multiple pay increases over first 4.5 years of service, with an end salary of $24.66/hr

Qualifications

Formal education in arithmetic to include fractions, decimals & percentages & to read, write & speak common English vocabulary; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in operation of heavy construction equipment (e.g., 10 ton crawler, large cranes, 10 ton backhoe, 18 ton dozer, over 44,000 pound gradall, truck mounted excavator) & related safety practices; valid commercial driver's license; in addition, for positions in Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry Wildfire Program only, must successfully complete Basic Firefighter Introduction to Fire Behavior Course (S-130/S-190).
