DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will primarily assist the Forest Maintenance Supervisor and Forest Assistant Manager in the planning, construction, and maintenance of four ATV trail systems located in multiple State Forests in northcentral Pennsylvania, as well as perform other necessary tasks on Bureau of Forestry properties related to management of Regional Trail Systems State Forest Recreation Areas, and other recreational trails and infrastructure, as required. Your duties will typically involve the skilled operation of equipment, which requires a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and the capability to manage truck and trailer combinations, including graders, backhoes, bulldozers, dump trucks with trailers, road tractors, trail dumpers, mini excavators, and excavators. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting essential daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance on the heavy equipment, power tools, and hand tools used in the section and District, assist with manual tasks when not operating equipment, and act as a lead worker to guide other staff in their assigned duties as necessary.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday - Wednesday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Thursday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Overtime and travel may be assigned as needed

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A; or
- Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more: or
- Any equivalent combination of experience or training.
- This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
- This position requires possession of a Class A commercial driver's license (CDL).
